International Transporting Development Demand Upgraded of Leasing and Tax Systems in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 April / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / The Azerbaijani International Automobile Transporting Association (AIATA) considers the current development rate of transport system in the country quite inefficient owing to the presence of expensive vehicles in the market, Ramiz Akhundov, Deputy Secretary General of AIATA, stated.

Meanwhile, AIATA has also increased its staff. In 1996, the company united five members, and today, there are about 40 members.

"Private transport companies face lot of difficulties while purchasing vehicles for $200,000 or more. For this purpose there is a need to upgrade the leasing and tax systems of the country," Akhundov stated.

AIATA provides international automobile transporters operating in Azerbaijan with CORNET TIR. CORNET TIR provides free transit through the custom points.

The official rate on 26 April was 0,8289 AZN/USD.
