Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 May / corr. Trend U. Ismayilova/ Inflation points towards the revival of the economy in the country, Ziyad Samadzade, the head of the parliament commission on economic policy said to Trend .
"Inflation is an objective process which shows the level of economic growth in the country," Samadzade said.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, inflation was 16.5% in January and March. Earlier the Azerbaijani government forecasted the level of inflation at 10% for the whole of 2008.
According to Samadzade, the current economic growth and influx of investments of Azerbaijan will not enable the level of inflation to be single-digit. " Azerbaijan will experience a double-digit inflation in 2008," Samadzade said.
