Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 May / Trend corr E. Ismayilov/ Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company (CASPAR) will purchase a new train ferry by the end of May, Aydin Bashirov, head of CASPAR, said on 7 May.
At the end of 2007, CASPAR purchased a train ferry capable of carrying 52 carriages at once, which is almost double that of CASPAR's other train-ferries.
Simultaneously, carrying 52 carriages also prevents the fragmentation of trains coming from the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea, which improves the economic expediency of the transportation.
The new train-ferry will be operated at the TRACECA route in the Caspian Sea and will promote the development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
