Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 May / corr Trend I.Khalilova / In the Q1 2008, the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported about increase of incomes into the public budget from its large tax-payers by 32.3%.
According to the Finance Ministry, some 23.5% (AZN 299.6mln) of the taxes collected by tax bodies in the 1st half of 2007 was paid by nine large tax-payers. Compared to the same period of 2007, the figure has increased by 73.2%. Except SOCAR, the rest 8 big taxpayers remitted AZN 58.4mln, an increase by 16.8% (AZN 8.4mln) as compared to the relevant period of last year.
In the first quarter of 2008, Azerenerji energy company transferred AZN 24.5mln, or 1.9%, Azerigas gas company - AZN 12.8mln (1%), the Azerbaijan State Railway - AZN 6.6mln (AZN 0.5%), AZAL air company - AZN 6.4mln (0.5%), the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry - AZN 5.1mln (0.4%), Azerkimya state company - AZN 0.6mln (0.1%), Azersu water company - AZN 1.7mln (0.1%), Caspar - 0.7mln (0.1%).
The budget remittances by Azerkimya rose by 2.3 times as compared to the first quarter of 2007, Azerenerji by 43.2%, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry by 29.3%, the Azerbaijan State Railway by 14.5%, Caspar by 10.4%, and Azerigas by 6.4%. Transfer by AZAL to the public budget reduced by 17.1% and Azersu by 33.3%.
The Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry remitted AZN 8.8mln to the public budget, or 2.1% less than the remittances in the same period of 2006.
From Jan to March 2008, the Tax Ministry fulfilled the forecast by 108%, transferring AZN 1276.8mln or 64.3% of the total tax incomes to the public budget.
On 13 May, the official rate of US dollar was AZN 0.8269.
