Functioning of Ganja Central Outlet Stopped

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 26 May / Trend corr. V.Mamadov / On 26 May, the functioning of Ganja-based central outlet was stopped because the outlet does not meet sanitary and hygiene standards, Asim Kazimov, Dirctor of Hygiena and Epydimology Centre of Ganja, stated.

"Genja Bazar OJSC was repeteadly warned to improve its sanitary conditions. However, the outlet did not take any measures in this directions," Karimov said.

Kazimov said that the outlet has been closed for three days. If the hygiene conditions are not restored in the outlet, the term for closing will be prolonged.

Hasan Hasanov, Deputy Director of Gence Bazar, stated that unsanitary conditions were observed due to repair work ongoing in the outlet. "At pesent, the market is under renovation and we cannot complete it within three days," Hasanov said.

The outlet has been functioning in Ganja since 1953. About 500 sellers of agricultural products work in the outlet. Since 1998, the outlet has been functioning as OJSC. Total area is 1.4 hectare.
