Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 June / Trend / 2008-2013 are years to establish strong commercial production and diversification in industry in Azerbaijan. High growth rates of economy in Azerbaijan made industrial potential a key priority of development and industrialization process was a success as well. We have the appropriate currency reserves. The agriculture of Azerbaijan will receive a strong impetus. Today, Azerbaijan is pursuing a policy to provide the people with all kind of agricultural products, with the food security becoming one of the key priorities.

The interrelation of policy and economy enabled to make Azerbaijan a significant and dynamically developing post soviet country for the last years. According to the reports of the international organizations, Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries not only in the region, but also among the other post soviet states for its competitive ability.

According to the International Monetary Fund, the growth of per capita income in Azerbaijan will have the fastest rates all over the world during the upcoming 6 years (252.6%). So, the per capita GDP in Azerbaijan will rise by USD12.915 in 2013 from USD3.663 in 2007. Azerbaijan will outperform Armenia in per head national income by 3 times in 2013, while the same figure (USD880) was almost the same with that of the neighboring country (USD873) in 2003.

In 2013, Azerbaijan will be 56th among 181 countries in IMF report for per head GDP. So, Azerbaijan will follow the European countries, developing North American and Asian countries and oil producing countries of the Near East. Today Azerbaijan is 91st due to its current indicators.

"Our task is to further secure the growth of the national economy and retain its leading position amongst the post soviet states. Without going into the details of the economic determinants, I would like to mention that Azerbaijan could get rid of the post soviet transformation expenses for the last 5 years".
