Baku-Frankfurt-Baku Flight Delayed
Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 July / corr. Trend E. Ismayilov/ Baku-Frankfurt-Baku flight carried out by the German Lufthansa airway company was postponed from 16:45 p.m. until 19:45 p.m. Baku time because of the strike by the employees of Lufthansa in Germany, AZAL closed joint stock company (civil aviation administration of Azerbaijan) said.
The Baku office of the German airway company said that the strike may end on 1 July.
Thousands of workers of Lufthansa airway company refused to come to work on 1 July morning. The representatives of the trade unions stated that the workers went on strike because the management of the company refused to increase the salary of pilots and employees of the land services.
The workers of Frankfort-on-the-Main, Munich, Stuttgart and Koln airports did not serve the passengers for four hours which lead to the cancellation of 28 flights and delay of tens of flights.
The strikers demand 9.8% pay rise for over 60,000 employees of the company while the management agreed to only gradual rise of 5.5%.
