Temenos Group Concludes Contracts with Four Azerbaijani Banks

Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 July /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / Temenos Group AG, leading provider of integrated modular core banking systems, plans to open its office in Azerbaijan by the end of 2008, Sergey Metelskiy, Director for CIS and Baltic countries, who arrived in Baku said on 14 July. It will give an opportunity to directly work in Azerbaijan, develop business and support clients.

"Opening office is linked with company's strategy to expand client base throughout the world and the most priority country in the region became Azerbaijan, where Temenos will be present because of the significant development of relations," noted Metelskiy.

He did not exclude the probability of support from the Azerbaijan office of company and near states. Today Temenos ensures its presence in Azerbaijan through the Azerbaijan company RISK, with which it works.

According to the representative of Temenos, sufficiently decent client base has been created in Azerbaijan, which makes it possible to open representative office.

"Usually three clients are sufficient for this, but in Azerbaijan four contracts have already been signed on introduction of the bank program T24," said Metelskiy.

For the first time, software of Temenos in Azerbaijan was introduced in Bank Standard, and launching of bank program within the record periods (less than 1.5 years) opens great opportunities in the region. Furthermore, three additional agreements have been concluded with the National Bank of Azerbaijan, AzerigazBank and TexnikaBank. Negotiations with three-four commercial banks of the country are also conducted.
