Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 November/ Trend , corr I. Khalilova/ "Assignments to the budget from privatizing state property were three times more than it was expected," Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov said during discussions over 2009 state budget in the parliament commission.
About AZN 170mln was assigned to the state budget as compared to the expected AZN 50mln.
"Rise in privatization revenues on the background of a global financial crisis is a positive trend while today developed countries take measures to nationalize large companies and banks," minister said.
Azerbaijan should pursue a careful policy while privatizing strategic facilities, minister said.
Revenues from privatization of property will used to eliminate budget deficit.
