Azerbaijan, Baku, 22 November / Trend , corr. U.Ismayilova /"Introducing single window system while examining goods and vehicles in check-points in state borders of Azerbaijan will allow to increase trade turnover and speed up the movement of vehicles, head of the Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev said.
"A special commission has already been established attached to the Customs Committee to carry out preparatory works to introduce the system since 1 January 2009," Aliyev noted.
Aliyev said experience of a number of countries including the United States, who was first to introduce this system in customs check points, has been studied. Georgia and Kazakhstan also benefit from the US experience.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on introduction of a 'single window' principle from 1 January 2009 during inspection of commodities and vehicles at state border check-points, an official press reported. The decree states the importance of enlargement of carrying capacity in state borders taking into consideration the fact that the 'Silk way' and 'North-South' transport corridor are the important part of Azerbaijan
To remove artificial obstacles during the check up of commodities and vehicles and import and export operations in accordance with up-to-date requirements, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan is charged:
