Azerbaijani Parliament Prolongs Tax Privileges for Agricultural Producers

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 November / Trend , corr. I.Alizade /The Azerbaijani Parliament prolonged the tax privileges for agricultural producers for five years term.

In 2008, that is due to expire of the term of moratorium by agricultural producers, who were exempted from tax paying within five years (excluding land tax).

In the condition of the food security problem the Azerbaijani Government decided to retain tax privileges in the agricultural sector. This will provide increase in the average of 10-15% in the agrarian sector in the next years.

At present, 99% of agricultural products is produced in the private sector. The land reform has actually completed in Azerbaijan. Some 1,390 hectares were distributed amongst countrymen.

Azerbaijan will not cancel tax privileges in the agrarian sector in the next ten years.

In the current development of the situation the public budget loses much due to unpaid taxes by farmers.

Dramatic funds would be made to the public budget if only large farm housing would be created in Azerbaijan.

For nine months in 2008, the increase ratio in the agrarian sector made up 8.3%. In 208, the growth of the agrarian sector is expected at 8%, in 2009- 9%, in 2010 - 8.5%, in 2011 and 2012 - 8%.
