Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 November / Trend , corr.N.Ismaylova /Experts of the authoritative British The Banker financial magazine recognized UniBank as the best bank in Azerbaijan in 2008.
"It is important for us that The Banker recognizes our bank as the best bank in Azerbaijan for the second time. First time it was difficult for us to receive such a status, but it was more difficult to keep the leader status. In addition, we are proud of our position succeeded at the market in the conditions of the current global financial crisis," Faig Huseynov, the chairman of the UniBank Board, said.
The annual prestigious reward of The Banker is awarded to leading banks and is appropriated on regions, countries and categories. During selection of candidates experts of periodical are guided by such criteria as financial indices, introduction and development of contemporary technologies, modernisation and tendency toward a constant development. About 500 banks out of one-and-a-half hundred countries of world compete for the reward.
The selection is admitted with banks, which take part in the competition for the first time, as well as banks which were already recognized as best banks in the previous years.
UniBank for the first time was recognized the 'Best bank in Azerbaijan' in 2005.
