Kazakhstan, Astana, 9 Dec/ Trend K. Konirova/ "Turnover of goods through territory of countries with a common standard of railway track of 520 mm is expected to slow down in future," Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov said while addressing the 2nd international regional railway business forum Strategic Partnership 520: Central Asia.
"Today when entire world faces economic crisis, we will witness slow down in economic growth of many countries. We will also witness slow down of turnover of goods through our territories soon," Masimov added.
Prime Minister said it will enable railway administrations to improve their infrastructure.
"On one hand this is a problem. On the other, this is an opportunity for railway administrations to improve their infrastructure and invest in development of infrastructure in our region," Prime Minister said.
As a result, when the crisis ends, the development of infrastructure will encourage development of economy of the region, Masimov noted.
