Turkmenistan Sows Winter Crops

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Dec. 19 / corr. Trend E. Hasanov / Presently, work on sowing winter crops is ongoing in Turkmenistan. In 2008 about 1mln tones of grain was gathered in Turkmenistan, that was more than that in 2007. So, about 900,000 hectares of land was cultivated for next crop, according to Turkmengallaonmleri (Turkmen grain-crops) state association. Young growth is already seen in the most part of land.

Grain growers are involved in vegetative watering and land cultivation by chemical fertilizers. While sowing extremely stable sorts of wheat imported from Russia were used. These sorts were successfully tested in the terms of arid climate.
