Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, January 1 / Trend E. Gasanov / Delegation of the Ministry of Oil of Iran in Ashgabat agreed on "fixed" price of Turkmen natural gas in the first half of 2009, as reported by the source.

In present time, Iran receives about 25 million cubic meters of Turkmen gas daily", he said.

Northern Iran which is located away from the Iranian gas sources, is being supplied the Turkmen gas.

A year ago, due to inconsistencies of the supplied raw materials cost, Ashgabat suspended its exports, claiming "technical problems".

Due to unusual frosty winer, this measure caused a "domino effect", as Iran stopped deliveries to Turkey, and Ankara, has reduced exports to Europe. During the past year, Iran has made attempts to combine their gas fields in the northern provinces, to reduce dependence on deliveries of Turkmen imports.

The main importer of Turkmen gas is Russia. In recent days, representatives of OAO Gazprom reported that they agreed on the price for 2009.
