The global financial crisis has heavily affected the Austrian labor market where over 301,000 people lost their jobs in January. This figure is 12 percent or 327,700 people more than in January, the Osterreicher newspaper reported.
Unemployment among youths soared 22.9 percent compared to January 2008.
Unemployment among women rose 6.2 percent.
Unemployment among men is 15.6 percent.
