Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb. 7 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia /

The global crisis has caused minimal damage to Georgia, Middle East and Central Asia Department Director at the International Monetary Fund Mahmud Ahmed said.

The conference was attended by Georgian and foreign experts and representatives from the business sector.

IMF representative discussed reasons for the crisis. They said it has had a minimal impact on Georgia.

Georgia has an advantageous starting point and visible fiscal incentives on the backdrop of the crisis. These are funds allocated by donors, Ahmed said.

According to Ahmed, the world will experience zero growth in the near future.

But the crisis has had some influence on Georgia, economic expert Lado Papava said.

"I hope that it will be possible for Georgia to avoid consequences of the crisis with financial assistance from donors," she said.
