The Azericard Processing Center has introduced the VISA and MasterCard e-commerce systems.
E-commerce allows sales and purchases to be made via the Internet with plastic cards.
"The system is used widely in Azerbaijan," the center said.
Azericard provides companies with the safe 3D Secure Verified payment system.
The center offers the service to all companies.
"We plan to complete all necessary procedures to introduce e-commerce via AMEX," Azericard said.
Commercial companies are also connecting to high-speed wireless POS-terminals (elcell).
In 2008, the number of Azericard cards reached 3.3 million.
