Azerbaijan and Iran hold negotiations to simplify control of ships in the Caspian ports and to reduce postal expenditures, Aydin Bashirov, head of the Caspian International Sea Steamship Line of Azerbaijan (CASPAR), said on Feb. 19.

Presently, the main volume of oil and oil products transported by CASPAR on the Caspian Sea fell on Iranian ports (Neka, Enzeli, Nousheher). CASPAR is the biggest carrier on the Caspian Sea.

The Azerbaijani Caspian International Sea Steamship Line is the biggest ship-owner company. Its principal activity is to transport freight, especially oil and oil products. Regions of transportation include the Caspian Sea, the Black Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Sea of Marmora. The Caspian International Sea Steamship Line's ships, operating in the Black Sea-Azov Sea basin, transport freight of foreign charterers to the ports of Europe, Middle East and North Africa.
