Azerbaijan Appraisers Society (AAS) has developed nine national appraisal standards, AAS Executive Director Elchin Samadli said on Feb. 20.
"All of these standards have been sent to relevant government bodies for approval," he said.
AAS is negotiating with state structures to get the standards approved and applied within a year, he said.
"Introduction of uniform real estate appraisal standards will trigger development of appraisal activities in the country and will eliminate the causes that create differences in assessment of property," Samadli said.
AAS is a public organization uniting all appraisers working on the territory of Azerbaijan. The society was registered in 1997. AAS members are 80 individuals and 7 entities.
Appraisal in Azerbaijan is governed by the Law on Appraisal that was adopted in 1995.
