Kyrgyzstan-China-Uzbekistan railway construction requires up to $2bln

Construction of Kyrgyzstan-China-Uzbekistan express railway will require up to $2 billion, the Kyrgyz Temir Jolu company specialists said at the presentation of the construction project Tuesday, March 31. The presentation was reportedly attended by the first vice-prime minister Omurbek Babanov, "24.kg" reported.

The specialists said that preliminary estimates of Kyrgyz and Chinese experts hit $1.35 billion, however the rise in construction materials' prices made it go up.  Kyrgyz railroad experts believe that first couple of years of the express railway activity the cargo traffic will make about 4.5 million ton, and in first ten years it will reach 15 million ton.
