Non-Life leads on Azerbaijani market

In January-February 2009, the Azerbaijani insurance companies' premiums on Non-Life amounted to 25.05 million manats with 6.39 million manats of payments, the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry reported.

Obligatory insurance ranked second with 5,631 manat (1,713 manat of payments). Life insurance ranked third - 142,000 manat with 149,000 manat of payments.

The premiums from accidental death insurance totaled 80,210 manat with 108,800 payments, annuity insurance - 34,720 manat without payments and life insurance 27,780 manat with 40,500 manat of payments.

Majority of Non-Life insurance comprises: private insurance - 5,104 million manat with 2,912 million manats of payment, property insurance -19,946 million manat with 3,478 million manat of payment, including premiums from civil liability insurance with 4,510 million manat of payment with 14,270 payments, loan insurance - 154,270 manat with 71,430 manat of payment, as well as insurance of mixed finance risks - 0,830 manat without payments.

Majority of obligatory insurance includes premiums from military insurance - 3,740 manats with 1,415 manat of payment, as well as fire insurance - 560,100 manat with 1,930 manat of payments and vehicle insurance - 501,600 manat with 117,020 manat payments, insurance of juridical and legal body employees- 729,090 manat with 175,80 manat payments.

In January-February 2009, premiums of Azerbaijani insurance companies totaled 30.82 million manat with 8.25 million manat of payments. The only Azerbaijan re-insurance company AzRe gathered 19.72 million manat with 0.56 million manat of payments.
