The State Veterinary Service attached to the Agricultural Ministry of Azerbaijan states absence of bird flu in the country.
"Laboratory checks were over 19 samples of wild and over 1,900 domestic animals. No infection was revealed," the State Service reported.
This was the fourth monitoring in 2009 held by the special commissions comprising employees of the Ministries of Health, Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as Agriculture and Hunting Society conduct monitoring.
The previous monitoring also did not reveal the presence of bird flue in the country.
The state service said that Azerbaijan is experiencing epizootic stability on bird flue and a situation is under control. Monitoring will continue in the country in autumn.
