The Nakhchivan automobile plant will launch producing automobiles of Chinese producer's Lifan in Azerbaijan in the near future, plant director Musa Abdullayev said.
"Contract will be signed with the Chinese company. Within 2.5 months of signing the contract 108 sets of automobiles will be brought to Azerbaijan to assemble further at the plant, Abdullayev said.
Chinese specialists will arrive at the enterprise soon to commission the equipment needed to assemble cars.
The plant will assemble four modifications of Lifan-NAZ: Lifan-320, Lifan - 520 (sedan and hatchback) and Lifan - 620 (the newest model set up in Chinese). Major market to sell automobiles is Azerbaijan. Necessary facilities will be offered in Azerbaijan to serve cars, Abdullayev said.
The annual manufacture is expected to amount in up to 1,500 cars a year. Lifan will open its office in Azerbaijan in the near future.
