Turkmenistan forms anti-crisis commission

Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdymuhamedov endorsed the commission to analyze the negative impact of global financial and economic crisis on the country's economy and develop appropriate measures.

The relevant Regulations were approved.

"In order to develop measures to reduce the negative impact of the global financial crisis on the socio-economic situation of Turkey, to ensure the conditions necessary for long-term stable economic development," the paper said.

Energy exports, particularly natural gas brings to Turkmenistan basic income. About a month ago, deliveries were halted to Russia which buys the basic volume due to the accident at the main gas pipeline Central Asia - Center.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Monetary Fund and several other international financial organizations assessed Ashgabat's earlier crisis measures. Turkmenistan established the Stabilization Fund in late 2008.
