Azerbaijan developing five new standards

The State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patent of Azerbaijan is planning to complete the development of five new standards before the end of the year, head of the Committee Ramiz Hasanov said.

"Time standard is the main developing measurement within the framework of the joint program with TASIC," Hasanov siad.

The Committee is also developing standards of weight, mass, pressure and electricity.

The opening of standard centre in Azerbaijan is a relevant event and will create favorable conditions to attract more foreign investments. Most companies go to foreign countries to define the correspondence technical demands of measurement standards which are lack of in Azerbaijan and in neighboring countries. This causes flow-out of huge capital from Azerbaijan.

Local companies expend huge money for this abroad. The centre will decrease their expenditure by ten times.
