The Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning has begun to develop a map of rational deployment of the production capacity, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Bakhyt Sultanov said at a government meeting on May 12.
"It is important to coordinate an investment activity with the state in implementing many investment projects under the conditions of the crisis and limited financial resources at the moment. The first part of building such a system will be the map of the rational deployment of production capacities which is under development," Sultanov said.
Sultanov said creating such a map card will, first, enable the state jointly with business to develop the correct investment decisions and second, provide agreement of implementation of the private sectors' projects with the developed infrastructure and the country's resource potential.
At present a prospective portfolio of important investment projects has been formed, the minister said.
The formed portfolio comprises 382 governmental important investment projects worth 8,433 billion tenge, including 66 projects of the Kazagro Holding, under which a competitive selection amongst entrepreneurs to implement the project and the project will be financed via the national fund.
Sultanov said the portfolio comprises 5 major groups:
-fuel and energy complex;
-agro-industrial complex;
-metallurgy and machine building;
-infrastructure;
-others, remained fields of economy.
"It is planned to finish 183 projects worth 643 billion tenge from the formed portfolio in 2009," the minister said.
On May 12, the official exchange rate is 150 tenge to $1.
