One of the most promising areas of interaction between the Republic of Cyprus and Turkmenistan is tourism, to which both countries attach particular importance, the TV Turkmenistan-4 reported.
This issue was reviewed at a meeting of Turkmen Speaker of Parliament Akzha Nurberdyevs with Ambassador of Cyprus Petros Kestoras. Kestoras has handed his credentials. The importance of the project to create a national tourist zone Avaza as the area of joint efforts and experience of Cyprus in the tourist industry on the Caspian Sea coast.
Kestoras conveyed greetings to the Turkmen President from the President of Cyprus Dimitris Christofias.
"Cyprus pays great interest to the progressive transformation that is taking place in Turkmenistan, seeing in them a positive impetus for the mutually beneficial cooperation", said the diplomat.
In Ashgabat, he was informed about the priorities of state policy and got familiarized with major national projects in the social sphere. The sides noted the interest in establishing close contacts in trade, economic, humanitarian spheres.
