The Azerbaijani State Committee of Land and Cartography intends to take grave actions for people expanding territory of their land plots without any special permission, the committee head Garib Mammadov said on May 14.
"If illegally misappropriated lands are of 1 or 2 hundred part, they will be sold to the same owner via auction or competition", Mammadov said.
Presently, municipal lands are sold via auctions and competitions upon the decree of the Azerbaijani President dated December 10, 2008. The Azerbaijani State Committee of Land and Cartography is charged to conduct them. Earlier municipalities had these privileges.
Presently, specialists of the state committee conduct monitoring, especially in villages, to reveal such facts, Mammadov said.
"Each fact means self-willed appropriation of state land", Mammadov said.
The state committee analyses each centimeter of land and submits a report to the Cabinet of Ministers annually. "Land balance" contains information about each used centimeter of land, Mammadov said.
There are three kinds of land property - state lands, municipal lands and private property.
