Azerbaijani tourists do not cut the demand for overseas travel due to the global financial and economic crisis, Head of Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry Tourism Department Aydin Ismiyev said on May 26.

"Currently, places have been booked in the closest resort area of Turkey - Antalya by mid-June," Ismiyev said.

He said cut in requests to receive trip vouchers are not observed. Resorts of Turkey are more accessible to tourists from Azerbaijan due to the close distance, affordable fares and a lack of language barrier.

Ismiyev said that the crisis is also not reflected in the construction of the major tourist properties in Baku.

Speaking of the tariff policy of tourism facilities in Azerbaijan because of the possible reduction of demand, the head of department said that the tourists, as in the past continue to come to both Baku and regions of the country.

But in the case of a significant reduction in demand, the tariff policy of tourism facilities can be reviewed," Ismiyev said.

In Azerbaijan, there are about 250 tourist companies in the country, there are 300 travel facilities.
