Azerbaijan will soon become a country of manufacturer and exporter of gold and copper, said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in the inauguration ceremony of a gold and copper factory in Gedabey region, AzTV channel reported.
The President said that opening a new sphere in Azerbaijan is a very important step and will give great impetus to the development of non-oil sector of Azerbaijan.
"The development of non-oil sector is a priority for Azerbaijan. In recent years, as a result of the successful implementation of the State Program for Regional Development, the non-oil sector in the country is devolving rapidly. Now the economy is not dependent only on oil and gas," said Aliyev.
Azerbaijan has been able to ensure energy, food security and the country has all grounds for sustainable and long-term development, said the Head of State.
"Opening a new industrial sector was made possible through the steps that have been taken formerly. The new sector will open new jobs that will create good opportunities for the development of western regions of the country. The development of new industrial sectors shows that Azerbaijan is attractive for foreign investors. There is a good investment climate in the Republic," Aliyev.
