Call-center to appear for insurance market participants

Azerbaijan Insurers Association (AIA) intends to apply to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies for a three-digit number assigned to receive complaints and suggestions from both the insurers, and insureds, AIA Executive Director Gafar Majidov said on June 5.

"All the information, gathered in the call-center, in a certain period of time will be reviewed for appropriate action with the support of the civil service of insurance supervision, which is currently carried out only by the insurance supervisor," Majidov said.

He said the association intends to work on identifying and addressing violations of the market, together with the state insurance supervisor.

Service of Insurance Supervision of Azerbaijan regularly monitors the market to detect deviations from the insurance payments. In the case of non-payment, the state insurance supervisor obligates the insurer to pay.

"Call-center will serve as protection for the Insurers, and for insureds," Majidov said.

The Azerbaijan Insurers Association was established in December 2006. The Association is composed of all the insurers. The supervisory board of the organization consists of five insurance companies of Azerbaijan - MBASK, Standard Insurance, International Insurance Company, Azersigorta, Ateshgah
