Turkmenistan's deputy railway minister Durdimurat Chopanov has been dismissed "for serious shortcomings in work." He was dismissed upon President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov's decree.
One of the strategic focuses of the ministry is construction of Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway. The Islamic Development Bank said it is interested in financial support for the project.
