Kyrgyzstan imports fruit and vegetables from at least 18 foreign countries, including Ecuador, Russia, Italy, France, China, Turkey, Ukraine, Israel, Spain, Egypt, Morocco, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan and Georgia, the working group of parliament reported at the Wednesday's session referring to the Kyrgyz State Customs Committee, "24.kg" reported.
During the past couple of months some 8,173,028 tons of apple, pear and apple-quince, some 2 467,95 tons of citrus and 901,60 tons of onions of various kinds were brought to Kyrgyzstan trough the Naryn valley.
The research has been conducted to improve quality of the bill on control of fruit and vegetables import containing toxins and chemicals, which may threaten people's life and health.
