Bilateral agreements on free trade zone within CIS to be canceled

The CIS member states have began discussions on draft agreements on free trade zone within the Commonwealth. The working group has already met in Moscow, Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry said.

"Bilateral agreements Azerbaijan have signed with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Ukraine are in force. But they will be canceled," the ministry said.

Thus, the bilateral relations will be regulated on the basis of a single agreement.

The meeting focused on deepening economic integration between the CIS member states, coordination of economic activities, measures to integration into global economy and international trading system.

The meeting noted the need for a regular meeting of the working group.

Azerbaijan was represented by head of Department for Development of Tax System and Strategic Studies Polad Jahangirov and Director of Division for Foreign Trade Policy and WTO at Ministry of Economic Development Bakhtiyar Alishov.
