Baku metro intends to buy 15 additional coaches soon, head of Baku metro Tagi Ahmedov said at the press-conference of ruling News Azerbaijan Party on July 3.
"The first 10 coaches were bought in July, the rest 5 in November," Ahmedov said.
Presently, roughly 258 coaches operate in Baku metro, he said.
Ahmedov said that most part of coaches is new.
He said that new coaches are equipped with modern ventilation system upon order of baku metro.
The Baku metro functions since 1967 (from Icheri Sheher station to Nariman Narimanov station with three intermediate stations). Seven stations of the Baku metro, including Icheri Sheher, Sahil, 28 May, Jafar Jabbarli, Khatai, Nizami and Elmler Akademiyasi, are deep-laid stations with Bakmil being surface and the rest -shallow-laid (altogether 21 stations).
