Azerbaijani Parabank plans to join international payment system MasterCard in 2010, the bank's treasury department director Elnur Agayev said.
"Presently, the bank operates with international payment system Visa International. But we also intend to join MasterCard by 2010," Agayev said.
Presently, growth in turnover of plastic cards is observed both in national and foreign currency, he said. As of early July, the number of plastic cards hit 3,000 units.
As of June 1, number of plastic cards given to users by the bank hit 1,947 units, the number of cash-machines - 9, the number of POS-terminals - 138 units.
Presently, roughly 17 Azerbaijani banks cooperate with MasterCard.
On July 6, the official exchange rate is 0.8042 manat to $1.
