The Azerbaijani Taxes Ministry received appeals from 22,169 taxpayers through computer terminals, offering 57,331 services in January to July, the ministry said on Aug.19.

According to the Ministry, in April to December 2008, 19,874 taxpayers appealed to the ministry through the computer terminals and the ministry offered about 48,125 services to taxpayers. A computer terminal targets rendering tax services to taxpayers operating in the country in line with modern standards. Through the terminals the ministry can offer services on tax declarations, check proper preparation and submission of declarations and other documents for reviewing data from individual sheets of taxpayers, information on tax legislation and its application registration of taxpayers in tax agencies and registration of business subjects through the 'single window'.

At present, the Ministry works to increase the number of computer terminals around the country under the state program on socio-economic development of regions in the years 2009-2013, adopted on April 14, 2009. During this period, it is planned to install terminals in all regions of the country. At present, the ministry set 15 terminals in the regions, including Khyrdalan, Sabirabad, Jalilabad, Masalli, Balakan, Agdash, Shaki, Khachmaz, Agsu, Imishli, Ismayilli, Salyan, Gazakh, Mingachavir and Goranboy. The ministry plans to install 20 terminals in 2009.

According to experts, ATMs can perform tax admission functions of payment terminal should they have relevant software.
