A passport and an investment program of Sumgayit city of Azerbaijan is developed with the support of the European Union, the executive authorities of the city said on Aug.20.
The meeting between representatives of the Sumgayit executive authorities and the EU specialists on the project of support to economic development ministry focused on development of city passport and program, the same source said.
EU expert on regional development, John Tate, who is working on the Absheron economic region, also attended this meeting.
A working group comprised of representatives from the executive and the relevant authorities was established to develop a passport and the investment program of the Sumgayit city. The main task of the working group is to collect and analyze relevant information on industrial, energy and environmental status of the territory. According to Tate, a passport and a strategic development plan reflecting long-term projects for the city will be prepared after solving several issues.
