Investment projects security exceeds Russian credit 3 times

The sum, required for financial security of investment projects, selected by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Kyrgyzstan, almost three times exceeds $300 million Russian credit, granted as a part of agreements, made in Moscow in February 2009. The fact was voiced at republican meeting, devoted to formation of the state investment projects' register, news agency "24.kg" reported.

Sum, demanded for implementation of the selected projects exceeds $850 million, moreover about a half of the sum is required for agrarian, one-fourth - for industrial and about 18 percent- for infrastructure projects.

At least 200 investment programs have been preliminary approved by the Economic Development and Trade Ministry.

According to the deputy minister Sanjar Mukanbektov, the government will choose 50 most priority programs with the Development Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic to make the final choice. Projects which win the contest, will be financed at the expense of the Russian credit.

The Development Fund pointed that it is planed to allocate $100 million for implementation of Kambarata-1  Hydropower plant project while about $5 million will be invested in small hydropower industry. Project of modernization of Mailuu-Suu electric bulb factory can also gain support.
