Georgia's ambassador to Spain, Zurab Pololikashvili, is considered as a candidate for the post of the minister of economic development.

Pololikashvili is a member of the presidential team. He was appointed Georgia's ambassador to Spain in 2006. Before that he worked as deputy foreign minister, and earlier - in various positions in TBC Bank. He knows Russian, French, English, Japanese, Polish and Spanish. He is married and has two children.

Former economic development minister Lasha Zhvania was dismissed by the Prime Minister last week. Nika Gilauri cited several reasons for the resignation of Zhvania, including uncoordinated work of the Ministry of Economy with other government agencies.
