Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 7 / Trend , N.Ismayilova/

The Azerbaijani Azerneqliyyat Bank will issue plastic cards of international payment system VISA International in 2010, said the bank.

"In January-February, the bank will issue plastic cards Visa Electron, Visa Classic, Visa Gold, Visa Platinum and Visa Business," the bank said on Sept. 7.

The bank became a full member of VISA International in August this year, and the process of certification of the bank is underway.

"Since the bank will emit chip cards, the process will last longer than the preparation for the emission of magnetic plastic cards," said the bank.

The bank issues local plastic cards and is a member of the Milli Kart processing center.

By 2009, the bank did not conduct operations on plastic cards, and as the system underwent testing, the turnover for the first half was negligible. So far, the bank has issued 6,200 plastic cards.

Now the bank has 27 ATMs, 15 of which have been already installed in the capital and the regions of the country.

Azerneqliyyat Bank was established in 1989 as a commercial bank and the bank was transformed into an open joint stock company in 2005.

At present the bank has 8 branches in Baku and the regions of the country.

Since early 2009, the bank has successfully negotiated and began to collaborate with one of the largest banks in Europe - Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG.

On Sept. 7, the official exchange rate is 0.8038 manat to $1.
