Meeting of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan inter-governmental commission to take place in Baku

The meeting of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation will take place on September 28-29, on the eve of the official visit of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Baku, ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Latif Gandilov told Trend .

"The meeting of the inter-governmental commission was initially scheduled for September 24-25, but it coincided with the Eurasian Energy Forum KazEnergy. Considering that the Kazakh side of the inter-governmental commission is headed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev, who will participate in the forum, it was decided to arrange the meeting on the eve of the visit, according to preliminary data for September 28-29," said Gandilov.

From the Azerbaijani side the commission is headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov.
The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on development of cooperation in the field of automobile, marine communications, agriculture, science, etc.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in January-July 2009 amounted to $92.6 million, where the share of imports of Kazakh goods made up $22.9 million. The share of export-import operations among countries in total trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the CIS countries was 9.4 percent.
