OJSC Commercial Bank Unibank has become the major official sponsor of the Professional Football League of Azerbaijan.
The Bank reports that the agreement under which Unibank gets status of official main sponsor of the premier league has been signed today between Bank's chairman of board Faig Huseynov and Football League's president Ramin Musayev. The sponsorship agreement signed between Unibank and PFL was signed for three-year term. It stipulates placement of advertising spots and banners of the Bank, use of sponsor's symbols in lightning of League's games, and preparing of Unibank's special advertising campaigns during football championship.
"Sponsorship of the Premier League is an obvious example that the Bank and the Football League can co-operate together. We believe and back Azerbaijani football and are ready to become major sponsors of the Professional Football League as we consider that this sponsorship will create more favorable conditions for development of this kind of sports in Azerbaijan," Huseynov said.
"We consider this sponsorship agreement as beginning of partnership of Azerbaijani business and sports from which first of all footballers win. I can say that we also have other proposals for sponsorship in the League, but the most profitable and confirmed in business was package of proposals from Unibank. Part of finances received from sponsorship PFL plans to spend on reconstruction of stadiums and building of stadium "Shusha" in Ramana settlement," Musayev said.
Under the Unibank-PFL sponsorship agreement conditions, since today country's national football championship received new official name - "Unibank Premyer Liqasi".
