Kyrgyzstan has exported up to 115 tons of honey in 9 months of 2009, Talant Uzakbaev, chief of the export and import control department under the Kyrgyz Agriculture Ministry told 24.kg Thursday.

At least 3 tons of honey was exported to the United Arab Emirates, as the rest was sent to the Russian Federation. Despite recent statements in local press about the alleged ban imposed on honey export in Kyrgyzstan, Uzakbaev says the process continues without interruption.

Kyrgyzstan has perfect geographical conditions for high-quality honey producing. "Kyrgyz beekeepers noted warm weather significantly eased the production process this year," Uzakbaev said.
