Association of Travel Agencies of Azerbaijan is developing a project to better ensure the Azerbaijani tourists' health insurance outside the country, the President of the Association Nahid Bagirov said on Nov. 5.
"For this purpose, the Association announced a competition on the insurance market of the country to select three or four companies that offer professional packages Travel insurance," Bagirov said. These insurance companies will be recommended by the Association to the tourists traveling abroad.
According to him, now the Association conducts an analysis of Azerbaijani insurers that provide services for Azerbaijani tourists outside the country in order to select the best four companies.
In Azerbaijan there are 28 insurance and one reinsurance company. The collections of the companies as a result of January-September amounted to 130.18 million manat with payments of 38.22 million manat. The share of health insurance in the total collections over the period totaled 16.73 million manat, payment - 9.96 million manat.
