6,500 vacancies offered at Baku fair: Deputy Minister

850 companies offered 6,500 vacancies at Baku fair-2009, Azerbaijani Deputy Labor and Social Protection Minister Natiq Mammadov said. 

"In particular, 1,500 vacancies are related to the state sector and the rest 5,000 to the private sector," Mammadov said

" The companies propose salary from 200 to 1,500 manats, he added.

The results of this fair will be known next week.

Fifty-five fairs have been held in Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, thus far. 2,181 companies participated in the fairs, offering 17,626 vacancies. About 38,000 people applied to the Ministry's Employment Service this year, or 3,500 people more compared last year. 23,000 of them were provided with acceptable job     

"Thus, Azerbaijan has provided 5,801 people with job through the fair"

On Dec. 4, the official exchange rate is 0.8026 manat to $1.
