The Baku Metro intends to buy 10 wagons produced by the Russian Metrovagonmash Joint-Stock Company in 2010, a source in the Baku Metro said today.
"We intend to purchase 10 new wagons produced at the Mytishchi Engineering Works in 2010," the source said.
He added that the date of the new wagons' arrival will be set after the contract is finalized with the manufacturer.
The Baku Metro purchased 15 wagons produced by Metrovagonmash in 2009. The Baku Metro bought 35 carriages in 2008 and 25 carriages in 2007.
The Mytishchi Plant Metrovagonmash has delivered tube stock to the Baku Metro over 30 years. Wagons of Moscow production comprise roughly 80 percent of its park.
The Baku Metro has functioned since 1967. The system composes 22 stations.
