In 2009, the relevant companies carried out construction work worth 3.158.9 million manat which is lower by 11.9 percent the index in 2008 the State Statistics Committee reported today. This drop is attributable to reduced volumes of work, both in private (10.2 percent) and in the public sector (16.8 percent) of the economy.
Of the total volume of construction work 2.163 million manat (68.5 percent) falls to the primary construction, work on the expansion and renovation, 610 million manat (19.3 percent) - overhaul, 132.4 million manat (4.2 percent) - servicing, 253.5 million manat (8 percent) - other construction work.
The construction companies implemented work worth 2.363.6 million manat, public facilities- 795.3 million manat
On Jan. 19, the official exchange rate is 0.8030 manat to $1.
