In 2010, Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (Kaspar) plans to transport 13.5 million tons compared to 13.2 million tons in 2009, Kaspar head Aydin Bashirov said at a press conference at the New Azerbaijan party’s headquarters today.

In 2010, Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (Kaspar) plans to transport 13.5 million tons compared to 13.2 million tons in 2009, Kaspar head Aydin Bashirov said at a press conference at the New Azerbaijan party's headquarters today.

"In 2010, according to forecasts, it is planned to transport about 13,5 million tons of freight, but this figure can be also more," he said.

According to Bashirov, about 70-75 percent of all freight transported by Kaspar falls on oil and oil products.

Also dry freight, particularly cement clinker and metalware transportation will increase.

Presently, summary deadweight of ships amounts to 520,700 tons in Kaspar. There are 37 dry cargo and 43 tankers in Kaspar.
